Our Coaches
Alexa McElroy, LPCC
Life Coach
Credentials: M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Licensed Counselor Candidate (Colorado), Harm Reduction, HIV-Related Affirming Care
Pronouns: She/Her
My unique vantage point as a coach is shaped by experiences in educational and non-profit settings as an academic/career advisor, mental health clinician, teacher, and researcher. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Spanish from Kenyon College. I also hold a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado, Denver.
I want to help you write the story you want to tell with your career and academic pursuits. I promise to accompany you as my genuine self as we explore what it is that truly enhances your life and honors your capacity for excellence and growth. I promise to bring empathy, accountability and curiosity to our time together.
I have worked with hundreds of students who can attest to both my goofy humor and observant nature. Some of my past experiences include teaching high school Spanish in an immersion setting, creating an award-winning bilingual college preparation program, designing and teaching a college course on academic excellence and achievement geared towards first-generation college students, and being an invited speaker at a summit regarding conflict resolution.
Dane Dowell, CPA, CPC
Life Coach & Financial Coach
Credentials: B.S. in Commerce, Certified Public Accountant (Colorado), Certified Professional Coach, iPEC
Pronouns: He/Him
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 2006 and started my audit and accounting career in Denver. As a CPA, my audit career has taken me from Denver to Singapore, DC, New York, and now back to Denver.
As I matured and learned more about myself and my own journey, I decided to pursue coaching so that I could help others start to live more authentic and whole lives. I completed my coaching certification from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, or iPEC, and am now an iPEC Certified Professional Coach.
I work with clients as a life coach helping them dream and develop as they find their own direction in life. I believe my clients have the answers to their questions and through open dialogue, intuitive listening, empowering questions and self-imagined goal setting, my clients are able to take strides and make changes in their lives. My practice is predicated on openness and authenticity, respect, commitment, and confidentiality.
Monique Sledd, MA, LPC
Life Coach
Credentials: M.A. in Forensic Psychology, Licensed Counselor (Colorado), Trained in Motivational Interviewing, CAMS Suicidology, DBT, CBT
Pronouns: She/Her
I graduated from the forensic psychology program at the University of Denver and started my career at a local community mental health clinic in Minnesota prior to working at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. My career has centered on addressing the needs of marginalized communities (e.g. LGBTQIA+, people of color, individuals in the justice system, etc.). I have done extensive research and presentations in diversity, equity, inclusion, and intersectionality (the layers of our identities).
My approach to coaching is to meet my clients where they are at along their lifelong journey towards contentment, success, and understanding their own intersectionality. Many of us bring different “selves” with us to each interaction in life, whether that be our gender, race/ethnicity, mental health diagnosis, or attachment style. My goal is to help individuals understand how all of these parts of ourselves interact and how we can best approach a life worth living while navigating daily obstacles and life’s transitions. My techniques provide person-centered ethos to help you reach your life goals. My coaching style is interactive, compassionate, and collaborative with an appropriate use of humor, when applicable. We will work alongside one another as a team throughout your coaching tenure with you leading as the expert on your life, needs, and wants the entire way.
Rae Stout, MA, LPC, CCC
Career Coach and Life Coach
Credentials: M.A. in Community Counseling, Licensed Counselor (Colorado), Certified Career Counselor, Certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Practitioner, National Career Development Association (NCDA) Leadership Academy graduate, EMDR, Strong Interest Trained, Career Construction Training
Pronouns: She/Her
I am a certified career counselor—a nationally recognized credential from the premiere career development association—and have extensive experience and training in mental health and career development. I have over 10 years of experience as a mental health counselor, career counselor and coach, working with a wide variety of clients ranging in ages from 15 to 80+ on topics ranging from exploring self and identity, defining meaningful and decent work.
My experience focuses in on the unique career development needs and experiences of underserved populations, including undocumented individuals, LGBTQIA+, and women in STEM. I believe many individuals feel tension with their careers because of a friction between themselves and the places where they work. I work alongside clients, using researched based theories like career construction, strengths based and solution focused strategies. As a queer person who has navigated being out at work, it is my goal that through our work, clients are empowered to make lasting change in their personal and professional lives. Some of my favorite career highlights include serving on the National Career Development Association’s (NCDA) Government Relations committee, and being selected as a member of their Leadership Academy, a unique mentorship program where members develop research to further career development access. I’d love to hear more about your favorite career moments and ones you’d like to have more of!
